Child Safety Standards

01 · Zero tolerance

An absolute prohibition

AfriVoice prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This includes grooming, sextortion, sexual trafficking or solicitation involving a child, and creating, possessing, requesting, uploading or distributing sexual depictions of minors—including AI-generated, altered or synthetic imagery.

02 · Scope

These standards apply everywhere on AfriVoice

They apply to all accounts, profiles, groups, posts, comments, messages, uploads, images, documents, audio, links and AI-assisted content on AfriVoice. Attempts to evade safety controls, reporting or moderation are also prohibited.

03 · How to report

Report without leaving AfriVoice

A signed-in group member can open the action menu for a post or comment, select Report, review the child-safety warning, optionally add concise details and submit the concern. Reports are linked to the reported post or comment and require an authenticated membership.

04 · What AfriVoice does

Restricted review and proportionate action

Safeguarding reports enter a restricted moderation queue. Authorised moderators can review the reported snapshot and relevant context, remove an offending post or comment, restrict or terminate accounts where appropriate, preserve information when lawfully required, and escalate or report confirmed CSAM to the competent authority in accordance with applicable law.

05 · Legal compliance

Working with competent authorities

AfriVoice complies with applicable child-safety laws and cooperates with valid legal processes. Where required by applicable law, confirmed CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant national or regional authority.

06 · Privacy and reporter safety

Share only what is needed

Report information is shared only as needed for review, safety and legal compliance. Retaliation against a good-faith reporter and knowingly false reports are prohibited. Never download, copy, forward or re-upload suspected CSAM to make a report; identify the content through AfriVoice’s report action instead.

07 · Enforcement and appeals

Safety action can affect content and accounts

Depending on the circumstances, AfriVoice may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve information, and escalate a matter to the appropriate authority. A person seeking to query a legitimate moderation decision may contact info@jkbytes.org; an appeal does not weaken or suspend our zero-tolerance standard.

08 · Children and access

Not designed for direct accounts under 16

AfriVoice is not designed for direct accounts by children under 16, except through a lawfully authorised institutional arrangement with appropriate safeguards. This access restriction does not reduce or qualify the prohibition of CSAE and CSAM.
